Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a form of behaviour therapy that encourages clients to face issues as opposed to avoiding them. It combines self-acceptance, and personal practice with other other skills such as mindfulness with the aim of encouraging you to be more accepting of your thoughts and feelings. It is used in Jersey for conditions such as stress, anxiety and chronic pain. Our therapists may use elements of ACT within the work that they do but do not provide this as therapy in itself.
